1. Welcome to Your Education Team

Welcome to Your Education Team ("YET," "we," "our," or "us").

YET provides educational support services designed to help students build academic skills, strengthen understanding, develop confidence, and become more independent learners.

Our services may include:

  • Foundational learning support

  • Subject-specific tutoring

  • Homework assistance

  • Curriculum support

  • Study skills and organization

  • Academic coaching

  • Test preparation

  • Additional educational and student support services that may be introduced in the future

These Terms of Service explain the expectations and conditions for using YET's website and educational services.

By submitting an inquiry, enrolling in services, scheduling a session, or using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service and any applicable family service agreement or written service arrangement.

For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must authorize enrollment and agree to the applicable service terms.

2. Eligibility and Enrollment

Parents or legal guardians are responsible for initiating enrollment for students under 18.

During enrollment, families may be asked to provide information about the student's:

  • Age and grade level

  • Academic strengths and challenges

  • Learning needs and goals

  • Current coursework

  • Scheduling preferences

  • Other information relevant to identifying appropriate support

Families agree to provide accurate and complete information and to notify YET of significant changes that may affect services.

Submission of an inquiry or application does not guarantee acceptance, tutor availability, or the start of services.

YET will communicate with families regarding service recommendations, tutor availability, scheduling, and next steps.

3. Educational Services

YET works to identify educational support that aligns with each student's individual needs.

Services may be provided online or in person, depending on the service, tutor availability, location, and family preferences.

The specific services, session frequency, format, and educational goals will be discussed with the family before services begin.

YET may expand or modify its service offerings over time. Additional services, including specialized educational supports or consulting, will be subject to separate descriptions, qualifications, availability, and written arrangements where appropriate.

Enrollment in one service does not automatically include additional services.

4. Tutor Assignments

YET works to connect students with tutors whose qualifications, experience, availability, and areas of expertise align with the student's needs.

Tutor assignments may be based on:

  • Subject matter expertise

  • Grade level and academic needs

  • Tutor qualifications and experience

  • Scheduling availability

  • Location and session format

  • Other relevant educational considerations

Although YET makes reasonable efforts to identify an appropriate tutor, a specific tutor or schedule cannot be guaranteed.

YET may recommend a different tutor when circumstances, availability, or student needs change.

Families should communicate concerns about tutor assignments or the effectiveness of services directly to YET.

5. Scheduling and Sessions

Tutoring sessions are scheduled based on mutual availability between the family, tutor, and YET.

Session details, including dates, times, duration, frequency, and format, will be communicated through the applicable scheduling system or other approved communication method.

Families are responsible for ensuring that students are available and prepared for scheduled sessions.

For online sessions, families should provide access to a suitable device, reliable internet connection, and an appropriate learning environment.

For in-person sessions, families and tutors must agree upon the location and any necessary arrangements before the session.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, tutoring services do not include transportation, childcare, or supervision outside the scheduled educational session.

6. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Missed Sessions

YET understands that schedules sometimes change. We ask families to communicate cancellations or scheduling conflicts as early as possible.

Same-Day Cancellations

Cancellations made on the calendar day of a scheduled tutoring session will be charged at the full scheduled session rate.

This policy helps compensate tutors for time reserved for the student and protects scheduled availability.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling requests are subject to tutor availability and YET's scheduling procedures.

A request to reschedule does not automatically waive a cancellation charge.

Missed Sessions

If a student does not attend a scheduled session and no cancellation has been communicated, the session may be treated as a missed session and charged at the full scheduled rate.

Tutor or YET Cancellations

If a tutor or YET must cancel a scheduled session, the family will not be charged for the session that was not provided. YET will work with the family to arrange an appropriate alternative when possible.

Emergencies and Exceptions

YET understands that emergencies and unexpected circumstances may occur. Exceptions to the cancellation policy may be considered at YET's discretion.

Any additional cancellation or rescheduling requirements will be communicated to families before services begin.

7. Rates, Billing, and Payments

YET uses individualized pricing based on the student's needs, type of service, tutor qualifications, session format, and other relevant factors.

Families will receive pricing information before services begin.

Depending on the service arrangement, billing may occur:

  • Per session

  • Weekly

  • Monthly

  • Through prepaid sessions or packages

  • Through another written billing arrangement

The applicable rate, billing frequency, payment method, and payment due date will be communicated to the family before enrollment or the start of the applicable service.

Families agree to pay all charges associated with the services they have authorized.

Any applicable fees, payment processing charges, or late payment charges must be disclosed before they are applied.

YET may pause or discontinue services when accounts become significantly overdue, subject to applicable law and any written payment arrangement.

Questions about invoices or charges should be directed to hello@youreducationteam.com.

8. Refunds and Credits

Because YET provides individualized educational services and reserves tutor time, refunds and credits will depend on the circumstances and the applicable service agreement.

Unless otherwise required by law or agreed to in writing:

  • Completed tutoring sessions are not refundable.

  • Same-day cancellations are charged according to the cancellation policy.

  • Prepaid sessions that have not been used will be handled according to the applicable written package or service agreement.

  • If YET cancels a session and cannot provide an agreed replacement, an appropriate credit or refund will be provided.

Specific refund, expiration, and package policies will be communicated before a family purchases a package or prepaid service.

9. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities

Parents and legal guardians play an important role in supporting student success.

Families agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during enrollment.

  • Communicate relevant academic needs and concerns.

  • Share educational materials or records when reasonably necessary.

  • Ensure students attend scheduled sessions.

  • Provide an appropriate learning environment.

  • Communicate scheduling changes promptly.

  • Maintain respectful communication with tutors and YET.

  • Ensure students understand appropriate expectations for participating in tutoring.

Parents or guardians remain responsible for their child's overall care, supervision, transportation, and educational decisions outside the scope of the scheduled tutoring service.

YET's tutoring services do not replace a parent's or guardian's responsibilities.

10. Student Communication and Conduct

Students are expected to participate respectfully and appropriately in tutoring sessions.

Students may communicate directly with assigned tutors as necessary for educational purposes.

For minor students, parents or guardians remain the primary point of contact for enrollment, billing, service concerns, and other important matters.

YET expects students, parents, guardians, and tutors to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Harassment, threats, discrimination, inappropriate conduct, or repeated disruptive behavior may result in a review of the service arrangement or discontinuation of services.

YET reserves the right to take appropriate action when necessary to protect students, families, tutors, or others.

11. Tutor Expectations and Professional Boundaries

YET expects tutors providing services through the organization to:

  • Maintain appropriate professional conduct.

  • Provide educational support within their areas of qualification and expertise.

  • Treat students and families respectfully.

  • Protect confidential student and family information.

  • Communicate appropriately with families and YET.

  • Follow applicable safety and reporting requirements.

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students.

  • Follow YET's applicable policies and service expectations.

Families agree not to request services outside the tutor's assigned educational responsibilities or qualifications.

Unless separately authorized in writing, tutors are not responsible for transportation, childcare, medical care, counseling, or other non-educational responsibilities.

12. Educational Disclaimer

YET is an educational support organization. Our services are designed to supplement and strengthen a student's educational experience.

Tutoring and academic support are not a guarantee of specific grades, test scores, academic placements, graduation outcomes, or other educational results.

Student progress depends on many factors, including attendance, participation, individual learning needs, instructional support, and circumstances outside YET's control.

YET does not replace the responsibilities of a student's school, school district, teachers, or other educational professionals.

Unless specifically agreed to in writing as part of an appropriately qualified service, YET does not provide medical diagnoses, psychological evaluations, legal advice, or clinical services.

YET does not guarantee that tutoring will replace or fulfill a school's special education, IEP, Section 504, or other legally required educational obligations.

13. Online and In-Person Safety

YET expects sessions to take place in appropriate, respectful, and safe environments.

For online sessions, families should help ensure that students have a suitable location and appropriate technology.

For in-person sessions, the family and tutor should agree upon a suitable location and any necessary arrangements before services begin.

YET may establish additional safety procedures for particular services, age groups, locations, or circumstances.

Parents and guardians should promptly communicate safety concerns to YET.

YET and its tutors will follow applicable legal reporting requirements, including Tennessee child abuse and neglect reporting obligations.

14. Privacy and Confidentiality

YET values the privacy of families and students.

Personal and educational information is handled in accordance with the YET Privacy Policy.

Information may be shared with assigned tutors and necessary service providers to support educational services and business operations.

YET expects tutors and team members to respect the confidentiality of student and family information.

However, confidentiality is subject to applicable legal obligations, including situations involving safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, or other circumstances requiring disclosure.

Please review our Privacy Policy for additional information about how personal information is collected, used, and protected.

15. Intellectual Property and Educational Materials

Materials created or provided by YET, including website content, written resources, instructional materials, graphics, and other original business materials, are owned by YET or used with appropriate permission.

Families and students may use materials provided during tutoring for personal educational purposes.

Unless expressly authorized in writing, materials may not be reproduced, distributed, sold, published, or used for commercial purposes.

YET may modify, suspend, or discontinue website features at any time.

17. Third-Party Services

YET may use third-party platforms and providers to support scheduling, client management, communication, payment processing, website analytics, and other business functions.

These providers may have their own terms, privacy policies, and service requirements.

YET is not responsible for interruptions or technical issues caused by third-party platforms beyond its reasonable control.

18. Termination or Discontinuation of Services

YET may discontinue or decline services when necessary, including circumstances involving:

  • Repeated missed sessions or scheduling difficulties.

  • Unpaid invoices or unresolved payment issues.

  • Inappropriate conduct or safety concerns.

  • Inability to identify an appropriate tutor.

  • Changes in tutor availability.

  • A mismatch between the student's needs and the services YET can reasonably provide.

Families may request to discontinue services by contacting YET.

Any outstanding payment obligations, cancellation charges, or applicable prepaid service terms will be handled according to the family's written service arrangement.

YET will make reasonable efforts to communicate changes to service arrangements.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, YET is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of its website or educational services.

YET does not guarantee specific academic results or outcomes.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights or limit liability that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.

20. Changes to These Terms

YET may update these Terms of Service as its business, services, or legal requirements change.

Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective or updated date.

Material changes may be communicated to families through email or other appropriate communication channels.

Continued use of services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law. Where separate affirmative consent is required, YET will obtain it.

21. Governing Law

These Terms of Service will be governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Any legal proceedings will be subject to the jurisdiction and venue requirements of applicable law.
